Job Summary:

As a Senior Associate in the Mobility Tax team, you will play a pivotal role in assisting clients with their global mobility related challenges across the GCC. Mobility tax involves advising clients on the tax, social security, payroll, and other employment related considerations for businesses operating across international borders and the impact on their employees. You will work closely with senior team members to advise clients and individuals, contributing to the overall success of the firm's Mobility Tax’s practice.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Build strong professional relationships with clients, maintaining clear communication and addressing their mobility tax-related challenges.
  • Leading arrival/departure briefings for employees entering or departing the GCC, including advising on the interaction of global mobility policies.
  • Support senior team members in analyzing tax implications of international assignments, cross-border transactions, and relocation strategies.
  • Understand income tax residence criteria and applying knowledge on case by case basis
  • Assist in conducting research on international tax treaties, laws, and regulations to provide informed advice to clients.
  • Exhibit a deep understanding of the array of social security and end of service benefit regulations that apply to employees and employers working across the GCC.
  • Leverage technology and data analytics tools to streamline processes, identify trends, and enhance service delivery.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from other departments, such as immigration, other tax teams and Global Mobility colleagues across the Deloitte global network to provide holistic client solutions.
  • Stay up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations, especially those related to income tax, social security, pensions and payroll.
  • Participate in training sessions, workshops, and seminars to develop expertise in tax mobility.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of tax principles, particularly international and cross-border tax concepts.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in relevant tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and adaptability.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA) are a plus.
  • Previous experience in tax, global mobility, payroll or related fields
