Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s in finance with a minimum of 3+ years (with at least 2+ years working on KSA VAT within a professional services firm)
  • Strong technical VAT knowledge.
  • Objective: To manage the internal VAT compliances and execute the VAT review / advisory projects for the firm

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Good knowledge about the KSA VAT Laws and Regulations including guidance notes and circulars issued by ZATCA.
  • Assist the VAT Manager in providing VAT support and advice to business finance teams in KSA on various transactions.
  • Support VAT reviews and health-checks conducted as per KSA VAT laws and regulations, helping to identify risks and exposures and manage their resolution by the finance teams.
  • Assist the VAT Manager in advising management on VAT implications related to new business initiatives or restructuring activities.
  • Support in drafting and/or reviewing Agreements.
  • Assist in developing strategies to minimise VAT exposure and ensure compliance.
  • Support in preparation / review of VAT filings in KSA prior to submission to Tax Authorities.
  • Ensure that adjustment to VAT returns are reflected by finance teams in books of accounts.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to address tax-related issues and support tax compliance procedures.
  • Assist VAT manager in managing tax assessments conducted by ZATCA.
  • Prepare submissions to ZATCA such as objection letters, tax assessment responses, etc.
  • Support finance teams in addressing complex e-invoicing system issues and bridge the gap between finance teams, systems team and e-invoicing experts.
  • Advise non-complex e-invoicing related issues and assist in direct resolution with consultation from finance and IT team.
  • Maintain a tracker of system issues and monitor repetition of issues.
  • Assist in periodic review and update on group tax policy, compliance checklists and SOPs.
  • Regular monitoring and updating of tax risk register and ensuring addressal of risks by relevant teams.
  • Assist in monitoring the tax compliance trackers.
  • Regular monitoring of tax registration records of group entities in KSA and ensuring updating them.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement tax compliance controls.
  • Help create VAT awareness and support training initiatives within finance teams.
  •  Monitor VAT regulatory developments and assist in communicating impacts to finance teams.
  •  Support the central tax team in managing and monitoring various internal projects such as IT system implementation projects from a VAT compliance and governance perspective.
  • Demonstrate elementary understanding of project management.
