Your role
As a performance test manager within the Delivery team responsible for helping our clients to identify and implement the most appropriate and efficient testing solutions for their needs, drawing upon our wide range of expertise and experience. You will get the chance to work with top tier clients across a range of sectors, providing high quality test advisory and delivery services. This an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly growing team that has a unique position in the test consultancy market.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Advising clients and delivery teams on Performance Engineering and non-functional quality matters.
  • Identifying the appropriate test toolset for a given situation including tools for load testing, reporting & monitoring, automation and data creation as required.
  • Designing and Implementing performance testing frameworks aligned with business objectives.
  • Architecting Continuous Delivery pipelines to automate quality assured code from commit to production.
  • Leading & motivating medium to large teams of technical resources to deliver the best outcomes for our clients.
  • Defining best practices and coding standards.
  • Managing diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognized for their contribution.
  • Mentoring junior members of the team and performing code reviews.
  • Supporting the development of client bids and presentations of proposals.
  • Contributing to Deloitte’s thought leadership in Testing.
  • Building and developing long term trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across our client portfolio.
  • Reviewing test processes and practices and coaching the team on enhancement opportunities.
  • Supporting our industry and proposition Testing leads to develop & implement existing & new go-to-market propositions.

To qualify for the role Managers must have:
  • 10+ years' experience with depth of experience with performance and resilience testing.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering the whole performance testing lifecycle from planning through to test execution and reporting for large engagements.
  • Experience of leading testing within an agile delivery environment.
  • Strong client facing experience.
  • ISEB/ISTQB foundation (or equivalent experience).
  • Capable of leading project wide NFR reviews.
  • Proven commercial experience of writing, maintaining and executing performance test scripts.
  • Performance Test Tool expertise (such as JMeter, Gatling, K6, NeoLoad, Loadrunner).
  • Deep understanding of application monitoring and tools expertise (such as Dynatrace and AppDynamics).
  • Demonstrable experience of systems tuning and optimisation.
  • Proven technical ability - combined with strong business acumen.
  • Demonstrable rapid career progression to-date.
  • Test management tool expertise (such as JIRA or HP ALM).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience.
  • People management skills and experience in leading technical teams.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
Additional desirable experience includes:
  • A proven track record in a top tier consultancy.
  • Strong Agile experience, Scrum/Kanban knowledge.
  • ISEB/ISTQB Test Manager (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with protocol-based monitoring tools e.g. Fiddler.
  • AWS Cloud Certified, other cloud providers also beneficial.
  • Exposure to NFT in a DevOps environment.
  • Experience of / exposure to Operational Acceptance Testing.
