As a Cloud Security Engineer, you can expect to be involved in the following activities:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Security Engineer with a specialization in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security of clients’ cloud environments, particularly OCI and GCP, by implementing and maintaining robust security measures, monitoring systems for potential threats, and responding to security incidents. This role requires deep technical expertise in cloud security best practices, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage security controls, policies, and procedures for OCI and GCP environments to safeguard against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security risks.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits of OCI and GCP infrastructure, identifying vulnerabilities and areas for improvement, and recommending solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Develop and enforce cloud security best practices and policies across the organization.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure secure deployment and operation of cloud applications.
  • Monitor cloud environments for security incidents and anomalies and respond to security threats promptly.
  • Implement native cloud security controls, such as IAM, VM, EDR, cloud security posture management to ensure appropriate access to cloud resources.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud security threats, technologies, and best practices.
  • Provide security training and guidance to team members and stakeholders on cloud security measures.
  • Work with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with industry standards and Middle East regulations related to cloud security.
  • Manage and configure security tools and software, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption technologies, within cloud environments.

        In order to succeed in this role, you will need the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Minimum of Seven years of experience.
  • Professional certifications in cloud security such as Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Security Engineer, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) certifications.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with securing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including expertise in configuring and managing security services and features.
  • Proficiency in cloud computing platforms (Google Cloud, OCI) and understanding of their respective security tools and features.
  • Strong knowledge of network and web-related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols).
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation of security tasks.
  • Understanding of compliance requirements and frameworks relevant to cloud security (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically about security.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and levels of the organization. 
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
