During your tenure as a business analyst, you will demonstrate and develop your capabilities in the following areas:
You will be responsible for working on a variety of projects that involve the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other spatial technologies. The GEO Spatial Analyst will also work closely with project managers and other team members to ensure that project objectives are met on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Use GIS tools and other spatial technologies to analyze, manipulate, and visualize spatial data.
- Work with project managers to develop project plans and ensure that project objectives are met.
- Develop and maintain geospatial databases and data models.
- Conduct spatial analyses to support decision-making and problem-solving.
- Create maps and other visualizations that communicate spatial data effectively to stakeholders.
- Provide technical support to project teams and clients.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest GIS tools and technologies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience working with GIS and other spatial technologies.
- Strong knowledge of GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or MapInfo.
- Experience with spatial data manipulation, analysis, and modeling.
- Experience in creating maps and other visualizations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in using geospatial data in a consulting environment.
- Familiarity with database management systems and SQL.
- Experience in developing web-based GIS applications.
- Experience with remote sensing and image processing.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R.
