Introduction
Join the first team in the Middle East dedicated to financial regulatory matters.
Financial Services Regulatory Advisory (FSRA) is a dedicated team of regulatory and financial services experts who work with firms and regulators across the Middle East. We help our clients prepare for regulatory change, support them through remediation processes, and provide advice on the impact of regulations from a business perspective.
The team works across a variety of financial services regulatory areas, including:
- Regulatory Change and Transformation;
- Capital and Liquidity Management;
- Regulatory Framework Development;
- Market Reforms and Integration;
- Anti-Money Laundering;
- OFAC and Sanctions Compliance; and,
- Regulator Mandated Inspections.
The FSRA team sits within Deloitte’s wider Financial Advisory Services (FAS) team in the Middle East; the team provides expert advice to a diverse range of clients in the areas of Infrastructure and Capital Projects (I&CP), M&A advisory, due diligence, forensics, valuations and real estate. Integrating with other teams within the FAS practice other work we undertake includes project finance, capital raising, vendor due diligence, financial modelling and project impact assessments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Project management of commissions
- Project monitoring (cost/scope/quality)
- Develop and deliver targeting and access strategies
- Client take on
- Work in a collaborative team performing research and analysis
- Contribute to presentation and other materials for client engagements
- Prioritize your objectives and contribute to project planning and status reporting
- Assist in the review and analysis of various client issues
- Assist in the review and analysis of various external / marketplace issues
- Assist in the preparation of client ready final deliverables
- Liaison directly with client staff
- Assist partners and managers in client pursuits and eminence building activities
Competencies
- Demonstrates at least a general knowledge of relevant financial, regulatory, and technical issues alongside a strong business and economic understanding of our core clients.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of basic financial analysis that impacts major projects and procurements.
- Demonstrable experience and outline knowledge of at least one sector of the financial market (e.g. retail or investment banking; asset management; insurance, etc.).
- Demonstrable technical knowledge in a core area for the FSRA team or willingness and proven ability to develop knowledge.
- Understanding of financial services industry and relevant regulatory matters (both globally and in GCC).
- Report writing
- Strong analytical capability
- Strong presentation/final output capabilities.
- Plan and manage engagements and workplan commitments.
- Strong Interpersonal & Communication skills.
- Excellent business writing skills.
- Motivated, dedicated, dynamic & hard worker.
- Fluent English and Arabic, spoken and written
- Advanced level of technical proficiency and computer literacy particularly with spreadsheets (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Qualifications/Experience
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Good tertiary level education. MA in Finance or related would be beneficial
- Big 4 experience whether in a perm role or internship experience preferable.
- GCC experience preferable.
- Exposure to finance and regulatory sector.
- Full mobility to travel.
