During your tenure as a Manager in Turnaround & Restructuring Services, you will demonstrate and develop your capabilities in supporting lenders, corporates, family offices and state-owned enterprises – providing restructuring advisory services, covering the following service offerings: 

  • Financial restructuring – supporting and advising businesses or lenders when the existing capital structure is no longer sustainable. This regularly involves advising in situations where there are loan covenant breaches and payment defaults. We support clients through the end-to-end process, including analysis, options assessment, independent business reviews, negotiation and deal execution
  • Turnaround and performance improvement – advising and supporting businesses in the following areas:
  • Business planning – focusing on key strategic, operational, commercial and financial value drivers
  • Hands-on support with the identification and implementation of strategic initiatives
  • Working capital improvement – reviewing the balance sheet to release tied-up cash
  • Providing interim senior support to assist in distress situation
  • Capital advisory and pre-lend due diligence – to support and advise on complex financing processes
  • Contingency planning and insolvency – identifying the options available to directors, shareholders and lenders, when faced with financial distress and crisis. In the Middle East, we have advised and supported on some of the most high-profile regional insolvencies.  We are also the market leader in the KSA for court-led financial reorganization processes (similar to a creditors voluntary arrangement)
  • Review outputs of financial analyses to guide client’s management to make decisions with confidence
  • Develop innovative approaches to analyzing data to help draw meaningful conclusions; champion the use of advanced visualization to extract insights from a data set and presents findings in a clear, logical manner to client executives
  • Assesses the financial aspects of business opportunities; identify and quantify financial and non-financial benefits of proposed solutions
  • Resolve escalated scope, timeline, or resourcing issues and shapes team’s priorities to address most urgent tasks
  • Maintain a diverse network of resources to execute engagements on time and on budget, leveraging Deloitte subject matter experts (SMEs) when needed
  • Understand the larger ecosystem within which the client operates; use to facilitate discussions about potential solutions to client’s financial crisis issues
  • Identify relevant business trends, economic forces, and industry practices and can confidently discuss with the client
  • Build a global network of subject matter experts within chosen industry and leverages global collateral to support sales pursuits and engagements
  • Set direction regarding the development and compliance of standards, guidelines, and service agreements
  • Develop options for addressing issues within capital structure by working closely with management and stakeholders
  • Develop and guide clients through implementation of financial and operational turnaround plans
  • Apply expert knowledge of enforcement procedures, combined with deep situational experience across the industry, to provide strategic contingency planning and insolvency advice
  • Develop alternate strategies to an existing restructuring plan, either as a genuine alternative or to expedite a restructuring process
  • Define client’s investment objectives including risk tolerance, asset allocation, and cash requirements
  • Help lenders evaluate loan portfolios, analyze strategic options, and recover value from non-core, under-performing, and illiquid financial assets

Qualifications:

  • 5 – 8 + years’ experience in restructuring and turnaround, Financial Advisory or Investment Banking / Merchant Banking, preferably in the Corporate Finance Department with experience in areas such as business valuations, mergers & acquisitions, due diligence, financial modeling and restructuring, raising debt or equity
  • Demonstrated ability to manage people and plan components of engagements along with ensuring deliverables meet work plan specifications and deadlines
  •  Recognised accounting qualification and/or CFA/CBV/CA certification preferred - otherwise MBA or equivalent, with emphasis on finance/financial planning or investment analysi
  •  Advanced level of technical proficiency and computer literacy particularly with spreadsheets (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).  Ability to use Thinkcell, Power BI, Tableau is an advantage
  • Proficiency in the English language is required
  • Arabic language skills are an advantage
